About This Exhibit

The Heart of the University: Parks Library at Iowa State University, a Special Collections and University Archives exhibition, shares 100+ years of library history on campus. As Parks Library celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025, this exhibition highlights its creation, major renovations, staff, and ways that the collections, services, and programs have changed and expanded over time to meet the evolving needs of the Iowa State community.

This digital collection is built with CollectionBuilder, an open source framework for creating digital collection and exhibit websites that is developed by faculty librarians at the University of Idaho Library following the Lib-Static methodology.

Using the CollectionBuilder-CSV template and the static website generator Jekyll, this project creates an engaging interface to explore driven by metadata.
